Big Sky Honey Farm

Chico, California

Big Sky Honey Farm produces luscious, raw, varietal honey from select locations in southeastern Montana. Each jar is a single-estate bottling from a single harvest, offering a true taste of terroir. Brian’s bees gather nectar from fields of open-range alfalfa (and in rare years like 2008, sweet yellow clover) and transform it into velvety ambrosia. We hand-bottle our honey in glass jars that preserve its purity and unparalleled taste. (No plastic honey bears, ever.)

Our honey was featured at Slow Food Nation.

Our Story

Who wouldn't trade a cubicle for heart-bursting sunrises on some of the last open range?

While most supermarket honey is a pasteurized mishmash of questionable origins, Big Sky Honey is luscious, raw, and varietal. Each jar is a single-estate bottling gathered from one of a few select locations in southeastern Montana. Places like Little Porcupine Creek and Salmond Ranch, where the deer and the antelope really do play. One of our groupies, Maye, age 74, says it tastes like the honey from her grandmother’s garden.  (Which truly, is all we aspire to.)
